End of March is time to graduate for most of the students in Japan. And a new job or school starts from April. So, period around the end of March is one of the most memorable time in their life. Do you know how Japanese dress up when they graduate? Unlike the United States or other western countries, Japanese students wear a simple suits or, for girls, traditional Japanese clothes. For high school and junior high school students are their usual school uniform. We have already introduced about the traditional clothes for graduation, Hakama, in our previous blog post. (See this.) Also about the unique custom to exchange or give buttons, The Second Button. (See this.) Today, let's take a look at the difference between Japanese ceremony and other countries' ones by picture!!

However, I suppose you are not so familiar with those Japanese style above if you are foreigner. On the other hand, typical western style of dressing in the graduation ceremony is like in the United States. (Photo below.)
Although those style are the most popular kinds of clothes to wear when you graduate from university, there are a lot of countries that do wear in their own ways. Also it seems that it depends a lot on universities. So lets take a look at more different kinds of clothes!

As you can see here, different countries and different schools have different ways of dressing up for their graduation ceremony. If you are in Japan during the end of March, taking a walk around the university town and finding out an unique style would be an interesting explore!!!
